The Enterprise Content Services (ECS) is the content management system for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). ECS provides true content management for many of PennDOT’s critical business applications. ECS functionality includes:

• Electronic storage and indexing of content

• Easy search and retrieval

• Fast content transfer

• Revision control

• Enforcement and management of the Retention Policy

The predecessor of ECS was PennDOT’s Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), which will be decommissioned when the migration of all legacy content is complete.
